"For we are workers together with God..." 1 Cor 3:9
It has been a long time since we have sent out an update about the work we have done and the plans we are making. There is still work being done to plan the dates and see that all the details will be in place, but we wanted to give you as much as we know so you can be praying about the work and considering your part in the work.
Exploratory trip to South America—completed Spring 2016
Tim DeJong spent March 29th to April 20th in South America looking at several possible projects, and returned with information to guide us into the next year. Thank you for praying for him as it was closely scheduled and personally wearing.
Ireland—completed July 24th-August 4th, 2016
Al Coburn made the trip we previously announced to Dublin, Ireland, with three others, July 24 to August 4 to help in the work of Joe Murphy, and then later with Jim and Kathy Morairty by doing some remodeling work for them.
Peru—finishing work two weeks between January 16 and February 10
Jesse Mattix, working with Micah Tuttle, needs some finishing help on a girls’ dorm at their Bible School before school starts March 5. This would involve moving a cement sink, insulating the block walls and making shelves and desks. This will be during their summer and in the interior of Peru, so could be quite warm. We have not set an exact date as we will look to the availability of the team, but if you have an interest in the work, contact Fred Scott, firstname.lastname@example.org, 563-271-1265.
Chile—new assembly building March 2017
An assembly in Quillota, Chile, is in the process of putting up a new building. They plan to have the foundation done before we arrive and will need help with the posts and rim of the building. In addition, there may be a sewer line to run around the building to the street, a bathroom to install and perhaps a roof to install. The expected time for the trip is during March 2017. Contact Tim DeJong, email@example.com, 706-556-1767 if you have an interest in going with this team. Please leave a message as Tim does not answer calls from unknown numbers.
Bolivia—more classrooms May 2017
We want to announce that John Aldom is working with Enoel and Leisa Suarez to bring a team of 10-12 people to Sion Church to build a small apartment and classrooms. The assembly has been asked to feed about 250 children, and they need more room. The trip is May 12-26 with a cost of about $800 plus airfare. This is not a TeamWorkers Abroad directed trip, but would encourage you to contact John at firstname.lastname@example.org, 519- 686-0616 if you have interest in this trip.
Zambia—well drilling March to May 2017
Craig Mauldin will be traveling from Augusta, Georgia, along with several from around the country and Canada, to Zambia to drill wells sometime during the months of March to May. If you would like to help in the work of providing physical water as an example of the living water they need, contact Craig at email@example.com. Again, this is not a TeamWorkers Abroad project, but we highly recommend it to any God may lead to be a part of this work.
Serbia—house renovation Possible trip winter 2018
A friend of Steve Luibrand, whom we have helped before, has a friend, Brasa, who is a Romanian seeking to reach his own people, has a need to move to a larger home for the accommodation of his growing family. This winter he will be doing smaller repairs to the new house so his family has a place to live when his current house is sold. His plan is to start the major renovation next winter after selling their current home.
Bolivia—recording room Possible future trip
There is a need for designing a recording room to be used in conjunction with the new radio station building. The current room is not made for recording and will cause difficulty making good recordings. If you know of someone with this expertise that is interested in helping the gospel to go forward in Bolivia, have them contact us at TeamWorkers Abroad.
Argentina—future building Possible future trip
An assembly in Buenos Aires has a two-year option to buy a large building for their assembly to meet in. They have done a few improvements and are waiting for the Lord to supply the needed finances. If the Lord has them move ahead with the building, we can expect they will need a team in a couple years.
These are some of the areas we are looking at as we peer darkly into the future. Please pray with us as the details are set, and that we might have full teams to do the work. Other possible trips may be sent to us to consider as these are worked out.
